HESITATION

Hesitation is the mother of all mistakes and lost opprtunities. They who hesitate is lost is the saying. What creates hesitation? There are many circumstances which cause hesitation but they have all different origions. The common one comes from the past which is underlying fear. Fear for the unknown and fear which was embedded in the mind because of difficult circumstances during the upbringing process. Hesitation comes from a low self-confidence system which cuases self-image and self-worth problems. A very high risk factor is created which entails that risk and change are viewed as taking a chance which cannot be justified. Change in itself is scary and the comfort zone is prefered where routine plays a major role. The latter supports a safety environment where the incombent feels comfortable to act without fear of rejection. When presented with a challenge insecurity creeps in and then the individual becomes hesitant to act. This causes a request for security and guarantees. Life, however, cannot be guaranteed and sometimes risk is necessary to cross the hurdles of life challenges. When risk is involved there is no guarantees and that causes low confidence individuals to become more hesitant to take decisions. Decisive decision making requires bold and matured individuals with a strong self-belief that they are capable in themselves to act. Hesitant individuals lack a strong sence of self-belief and therefore need guarantees before they make a decision and act. The underlying fear of self-doubt and lack of ability supports hesitation which creates tension and stress when major decisions have to be made. Many an individual suffer from high stress levels which in turn cause all sorts of illnesses and their medicine cabinet has many drugs to help them cope with stress and side affects.
The writer once was in the same situation and suffer many side affects due to high stress levels. Low self-confidence is the mother of many stresses and it undermines the individual to execute his/her full potential. It also causes a
restriction in acting when necessary. Decisive decision making is lacking and many opportunities are lost. Success is limited to the known and risk-taking is out of the question. Guarantees are required before acting and negative views prevent bold action.
The writer has therefore created a consultancy to assist individuals with improving their profile to become more successful and happy. A soundboard approach was created to assist with decision making at all levels which will provide some guarantee to facilitate the decision-making process.
